The 30 Day Shred ♥

Level One
Started: Dec. 27, 2011 / Completed: Jan. 6, 2012

My thoughts ...
Level 1 was hard at first, but it got easier. The only exercise I really had a problem doing were the anterior raises with a side lunge. Instead of doing the anterior raises, I did a bicep curl. On the first few days, it was hard for me to even do two straight minutes of intense cardio exercises, but I was able to do them all (without quitting) by the end. This level was worth every aching muscle, and every drip of sweat.

Level Two
Started: Jan. 9, 2012 / Completed: Jan. 18, 2012

Day 1 - January 9, 2012
  • Two words: a killer. I was drenched in sweat, & worn out. The v-squats were the hardest!
Day 2 - January 10, 2012
  • I felt like I was going to die. Heavy breathing, frequent stopping, soreee muscles, & a few tears.
Day 3 - January 11, 2012
  • It's getting easier, but not easy. I was able to push a little further without stopping today! & No tears... Yay!
Day 4 - January 12, 2012
  • My muscles aren't quite as sore today. Still having some trouble with the pendulum lunges. NOT giving up!!
Day 5 - January 13, 2012
  • Ughhh.. I'm still having trouble with the v-squats. Instead I just do bicep curls + squats. "/
Day 6 - January 14, 2012
  • Today was okay. I'm kind of upset b/c I haven't noticed any "visable" results during this level. I watched Level 3 today, and it looks easier. It looks like it works your abs more. My stomach is what I really want to lose! I'm so ready to get level 2 over with.
Day 7 - January 15, 2012
  • I'm just now realizing that it's important to control your breathing. With that being said, today was a lot easier........ lol.
Day 8 - January 16, 2012
  • No more pausing during the pendulum lunges! Woot woot.
Day 9 - January 17, 2012
  • Excuse my language, but I'm so f****** ready for this level to be over with! Only 1 more day.
Day 10 - January 18, 2012
  • I am so happy to be done with this level. I got through the entire thing without stopping. But I did replace the v-squats with a side lunge + bicep curl. Goodbye level 2. You will NOT be missed.
My thoughts ...
Honestly, this level was not my favorite. I didn't enjoy the planks at all. I do feel stronger though, because I was able to make it through the last day without stopping. I didn't see much of a change in my body, but I felt like this level worked my arms the most. I'm glad to say I didn't quit. If you're doing this, keep pushing! You can do it.

Level Three
Started: Jan. 19, 2012 / Completed: Jan. 31, 2012

Day 1 - January 19, 2012
  • My favorite level out of the three! My thighs are killing me :)
Day 2 - January 20, 2012
  • Lovedddd it. The only thing I'm having real trouble on is the jumping lunges. So I just do the modified version.
Day 3 - January 21, 2012
  • 11PM workout!! I'm really enjoying this level. My arms & thighs were killing me the whole way through. Can you say "feel the burrrrrn?" :)
Day 4 - January 23, 2012
  • Yesterday was a rest day, but I felt the pain today! For some reason, it felt a little harder than the last 3 days.
Day 5 - January 24, 2012
  • Another 11PM workout! My legs are hurting.. & Did I mention those superman ab thingys kill me everyday! lol.
Day 6 - January 25, 2012
  • Oops! Forgot to write yesterday. I can't remember how painful it was, but I made it through.
Day 7 - January 26, 2012
  • Today was a killer. I did TaeBo yesterday, so my body is so sore! As hard as it was, I still didn't quit. Woot woot!
Day 8 - January 30, 2012
  • If you've read my blog post from yesterday, you'll see that I had to take 3 days off. I started back today, & it felt like Day 1 all over again. Tomorrow I will double up (AM&PM) so I can be completely finished by the 1st. Stay with it! You can do it.
Day 9 & 10 - January 31, 2012
  • Round 1 was easy.. Round 2 was the devil. But I kept going! Burning thighs and all.
My thoughts ...
The day has finally came. I'M FINISHED!!! Yes. I've attempted to do the 30 Day Shred about 3-4 times before, but never finished. This is such an accomplishment. It took me 35 days to complete it. All I can say is... It does get EASIER, but it doesn't get EASY. Level 3 was my favorite out of the 3. I really don't know why, but it was. My advice to anyone struggling to finish is - keep going. The end will be here before you know it. If you keep pushing, you'll feel just as accomplished as I do right now. You are worth it. Trust me. Stay tuned for my progress pics & measurements tomorrow! ♥
